Meeting Linda (part 3)
I have just recently gotten into raising Boykin Spaniels and that's because they are such an interesting little dog with great stamina. I have yet to have my first litter of them but I'm just now building my breeding stock. So in about another year I should be off the ground with them.
I do rescue of labs and some mixed breeds, but mostly labs. I do this on my own because it's less hassle that way.
I rescued dogs that were from divorces, separations, or because they didn't want to scoop dog doo anymore, or spend the money to have their hips corrected from poor breeding, or just from plain old "I don't want it anymore" so I guess you can say I take pretty much any dog for any reason. I figure this way that "they are all God's creatures and need someone to take care of them" so as long as I can care for them I will.
I work 48 hours a week at my REAL job (now recently retired after 30 years), and take care of 22 dogs plus puppies but I wouldn't trade a minute of the time I spend with the dogs or pups. But that's okay because I feel like there aren't many breeders that can say they have had a dog in the White House, so I must be doing something right.
